Moving Again

I crashed my bike twice since I last blogged (2 weekends in a row) and before that it was well over a year since I came off.
I think there was something wrong with the bike, the second time the front wheel just locked up on me and the bike flipped over - That did some serious damage to the bike and I was in a lot of pain for a while, my kneecaps are still really sore.
Anyway...that's the worst thing that has happened ;)

For my sites, DeuceAce poker forum is doing pretty well, I reached 500 members and just went over 6000 posts :)

I have someone working on GamblingAffiliatez now, I think he will do a great job, he knows the industry and has had good results on his own poker sites.
Fingers crossed, I would like to see Gambling Affiliatez get off the ground, I just dont have time right now myself.
New Poker Site
My designer has finished the design for my latest poker site.
I am using a script I have never used before and I have hired someone that is a moderator at the forum for the script to integrate my design.
I think its going to be a very big task, I had to get things changed in the design so it would fit the script so Im really hoping the coder can do a good job..Not sure what to expect.
I don't want to post it here until the site is complete but once it is I will do a quick update.
Moving Again
People that have known me for a long time know that I like to move around a lot :)
Its time for another move, I am moving around the middle of this month into another apartment in the city cetnre, its a 2BR with amazing views over the river foyle and right beside everything.
When I say the city centre, I mean right inside the centre.
Once I move I will get some pics up. I'm going to take a few trips to England around the coast to find a nice place and I will be moving there in another 6 months time.
So much for a quick update, I was planning on a few lines :)

Gambling Affiliatez
Gambling Affiliatez is the latest poker site I am putting online.
I think you can guess what the site is by the name ;)
I am going to be trying to make this site a heavy content site rather than basing it around the forum, like I normally do.
I will be hiring a few content writing companies that will be working constantly to bring new content and articles to the site as well as hiring developers to create tools for affiliates that I will be offering free of charge.
I have quite a few ideas for this site, I am just starting to affiliate in poker myself so I know exactly what affiliates want, I have been reading affiliate forums for years already and I have been a member of a few poker specific affiliate forums for around 2 years so I know the topic well enough.
I am getting the first draft of a design for the site back from the designer today, I have very high expectatons for it, I will post it here when I get it, hopefully its a good one!

BuyStock.us is a domain I have had for some time now, I was always planning on developing it but I just don't have the time myself anymore, so I am paying a company to develop this and many other sites by adding content, affiliate links and a few dynamic content sections.
I want to set this and others up so they don't need any work from me to run and still make an income, nomatter how small.

Well I have never wanted to start an arcade site, but I am actually setting this up and paying for everything for someone I know.
They will be the admin on the site but I will still be updating, improving and doing general backend work on it, but I wont be taking any money from it.
I'm not into arcades myself and I think the bubble burst for them a long time ago so I'm not expecting much from this, but I am sure it will still be a very nice site, I am paying someone to upload a load of games for me right now which is taking a few days and should be complete very soon.

It is run by Lee Dodd from ForumTrends which I have the utmost respect for, I have been reading his posts and blogs for a while now and he is a great person to learn from.
I am sure having him own a forum specifically for people earning from the internet will really help many people, including myself.
He is also running the BIGGEST competition I have seen!

I am having major problems with designers lately, almost everyone that is doing work for me is away or busy and its setting back everything.
I honestly wouldn't mind as long as I knew when people when and weren't available but when you have others waiting for work to finish before they can start something for me, it puts things back even months for a few weeks delay.
Hopefully after the summer everything will be sorted out so I can get back on track, sorry for ranting but I haven't been able to do anything since I got back from Florida and I just feel like I'm wasting a lot of time that I should be working.

I just noticed that almost all my domains had the wrong address for my contacts, they were 2 houses out of date, which is about 3-4 years old!
So...who wants to send me something free ;-)

Just setup the blog with a domain name and heres a pic of an air-rifle I bought in Florida

I have never been able to give my domain name without going to the bookmark so I finally bought my own domain - www.JohnDiver.com
I have to get it setup properly so live bookmarks will work using it but if anyone wants to link to here this will make it easier!
Here's a pic of an air rifle I bought when I was in Florida, it wasn't the easiest getting this back to London then to Belfast!
It shoots pellets 1000 feet a second and its really powerful, it has gone straight through everything I have shot so far!
I have a really good sight that is very accurate and I got a laser sight for night, its just for fun :)

Back from florida! Quick update

Hey,
I got back from Florida on Sunday and I was going to post a big update on Mon and Tues but I cant get the time, thought I would post a smaller update instead.
The return from FL was a nightmare, I accidently booked the wrong return flight date from london to belfast so I was in the airport from 6am until another flight at 3.35pm and I was up from early saturday morning so I was wrecked!
I had to buy another flight for both of us to get back that day, cost over £300 and I had already booked an extra return flight before that by accident again....nightmare or what!
Anyway, Im glad to be back but I am totally messed up on my times, its 6.30am here now but I dont feel tired at all, same thing happened yesterday and I ended up going out for a ride on the bike at 5.30, it was freezing though so Im not doing it again today haha.
On to work things :)
Things aren't going too well, Sheldon is busy with university and the design is a good bit behind schedule, the first draft was meant to be around before I went away, but he was trying to squeeze it in quick, but that was nearly 3 weeks ago, I thought it would have been done when I got back.
I havent seen the logo design since I went away as well, hes working on some full site designs for me at the same time so thats holding back a lot of sites.
I was hiring a content writing company but it seems the owner is travelling constantly so I cant get im very often, their work is great though so I dont mind waiting for him to get back so we can get things sorted, they will be doing content for all my new sites.
Ok, thats enough for now, time to go do more work :)

Knowing when to trust people
Hey,
Well I heard back yesterday from a company that I reserved space for on DeuceAce poker forums.
After more than 3 weeks they told me that they didn't want to buy space I was reserving for them.
Just from the time I trusted them and reserved the space, I lost over $600.
I wont name them here because I don't think that does any good to anyone.
Normally I am very trusting with people when it comes to money, but before this I waiting for nearly 2 months for another company to pay up for space I reserved for them.
I have done it lots of times and normally there are no problems, last time was with Rakenut and they were amazing, they paid for the space, which I never thought otherwise, and now I have a great partnership with them and they are easily one of my best advertisers.
On another note, I got one of my designs/logos back and its coded to HTML now.

It is going to be coded to GameScript and vBulletin.
I was never going to start an arcade (Damn I lost SO much money, if only I started my own arcade when I owned GameScript!) but I am doing this for someone else.

I have my own logo designed for the site so I will update it tonight or tomorrow with the version with my logo.
Orlando in 5 days!
I am heading to Orlando for 2 weeks this Saturday.
I have to stay in London Gatwick the night before because my flight is from London early in the morning.
Just booked a hotel to stay overnight.
I accidentally booked two return flights to London haha.
I couldn't get a refund though so they were a complete waste..
Working on holidays
What does everyone think about working on holidays?
I dont want to work when Im away and the other half wont be too happy, but I think need to do it to make sure everything is going ok, mainly with the people I have doing work for me, I hired quite a lot of people to do a lot of work while I was away and I want to make sure they are keeping on schedule because there's a lot riding on the work from each person.

Another quickie :)
Just sent payment to Peter for another 8 logos and 2 site designs.
He is another really good designer and I have always been impressed with his work, he uses a lot of detail and is really creative, just like Sheldon ;)
Loving the new bike, amazing sound from it when I ripped up the street outside today, there's a really long, straight road right outside me, still don't have enough time to top the speedo haha ;)
I need to get new bike gear, I gave it to someone a while ago and still waiting for it but the colours wouldn't suit the new bike, leathers are pretty expensive, around £500-£750 (Not $) so I'm waiting until I get back from Orlando to even think about it.
I got some banners designed for DeuceAce.com poker forums.
I will post an update here when I get the first logo back from Peter, should be soon enough.

It is better to work on your business than in it :)

New bike and updates on new sites

Decided I will still do blog posts but they are going to be a lot shorter.
I bought a new bike last night, heres a pic of the same model but I have different colours:
Its a nice bike, a lot more power than I thought, nearly crashed it the first time I went on haha :)
I got a logo back for one of my new sites, its going to be a site with resources for poker and gambling affiliates, the domain is GamblingAffiliatez.com
I was hoping Sheldon could get started on my designs for two new forums but he just told me he couldnt start until the 15th :(
Thats going to delay things a lot because these were two sites I was planning on getting going as soon as I get back from Orlando this month.
He is well worth the wait so I don't mind, I would recommend him but I don't want any more people taking up his time when I need work done :p

I am doing this as a long term project.
Right now I am a legal business online and my company name is GlobalEire -
Eire is Irish for Ireland, for anyone that doesn't know, I'm in Ireland :)
The DeuceAce design is complete now, I just have to finish up some small things
as well as add a few new sections.
I had an advertiser contact me and ask to purchase EVERY advertising space
I have available, that's quite a lot and I was surprised.
Then I had a look at the domain he was emailing from, its a VERY big company
that sponsors a football team in the English Premier League as well as owning
some big name companies.
I wasn't expecting that but they are looking to advertise with me as much as
possible because they have a poker room starting up.
I let him know everything that was available and asked if he was sure he wanted
everything (20 text links is a lot for any one site!) and he said just give
him anything going!
Money will be sent early this week.
Business Course
I just went and signed up for a business course on Friday.
I was at the course before and its great, but I didn't finish it because I
didn't have enough time then to keep going.
The main reason I want to go is to get a professionally written business plan
which I need for a few things.
The course has people that really know what they are doing.
The financial section was run by an ex bank manager and someone from the tax
office that told me every trick going, saved me a lot of money in tax ;)
Of course, it was all legit ;)
General Poker Network
I have hired a content writing company that will be working for me constantly,
I have given them work that will finish up on Friday and I will be asking for
more writers in their business to take on a lot more content for me once that
is complete.
Content is really important in a site, I didn't think it was so important until
I started hiring people to do unique content for me a few years back.
Now that I am working in a really competitive industry (Poker) I need to keep
on the ball, adding new content to my other poker sites should help keep them
up in search engines and have something to keep people coming back at the same
time :)
I haven't had much chance to start working on the other sites I have planned
for the network, apart from getting the content writers to work on the content.
I have put a few posts up on forums looking for people/companies that can take
on PHP coding/design work and a few other things but haven't got many people
that I think can do the job..

New Site Idea
I came up with an idea for a new poker site.
Its based on another site (Although I forgot all about that) and its a really
simple idea, but simple ideas are the best ;)
I bought a script last year that I think I could use, it should make it quick
to setup the new site.
Once the design is complete I will give more details and post a preview :)
Referrals
I am offering up to $5/referral for DeuceAce!
Here's the full details:
Option 1: Refer a user that makes 10 posts minimum and make $2
Option 2: Refer a user that makes 20 posts minimum and make $5
You can only get paid for one of the options, i.e. you cant get $2 after
10 posts then another $5 after 20 for the same user.
The users must be REAL referrals, in other words, you can't register accounts
yourself and put them down as your referrals.
Anyone doing this will be banned and will not be paid for any referrals, too
many people have tried it on other forums I owned in the past.
The maximum number of referrals you can make is 50 in one week.
You must make at least 5 referrals to be paid.

register, tell them to put in your username.
This is the most I have seen offered for referrals on a forum!
Motorbike and Car
Without a doubt I live in the worst city in the UK and Ireland for insurance.
My insurance is £3000+/year for the car, but I need it.
Car needs to get taxed, insured AND MOTd this month!
I gave someone my bike for 2 months to do his test and he did some real damage
to it.
If he told me I could have easily fixed it but he used it the whole time when
he knew he broke something and I don't even know if I can find anyone that can
fix it..I need to get cast iron welded on and some other work, not an easy job.
I have been looking around for a new bike now and I think I might have found
one that I will go for.
The owner is only a mile from me so that makes it easy! I haven't got a look
at it yet but if its good looking I think I will have a new bike this week :)
Holiday
I have been thinking where I will go this year for a while, decided to go to
Orlando, Florida.
Going to try book it this week but I don't want to go right in the middle of
the summer because I think its 35c+ and I couldn't stick that, I'm used to the
cold weather in Ireland ;)
Not too sure how much it will cost,I will be paying for two people anyway.
We went away to Santa Ponsa last year which was pretty good, but we didn't have
a TV in the hotel room!
I'm not in the room a lot but I hate not having something on, even if it would
have been in Spanish haha.
I want to get a really good hotel right in the middle of everything anyway,
been told there's a lot to do in Orlando so it should be good anyway!

Well I said a while ago that I wasn't posting my revenue details.
I am going to post how much I have made in the (roughly) last 30 days.
The earnings are just over $20,500.
It might seem like a lot but starting up so many new sites isn't cheap ;)
Hopefully that's a lil inspiration for anyone that wants to be a full time
webmaster.
I gave up my full time job less than 6 months ago so it can be done very easily.
I think its a LOT easier with the blogs online now, Tylers blog is one of the
best, you should check that out.
Its on the right navigation of my blog.
Jon's used to be very good but I haven't talked to him myself in a few months
now and don't see many updates on his blog.
I don't know if there's many others of people that own sites and make their
living from their websites, theres some good blogs out there, but none like
Tylers and Jons. I'm still looking for more though.

Just a general update :)
The new DeuceAce design is online!
I just put the design online yesterday.
I have been working on the site for ages but needed the design until I could do most of the work.
Some sections still aren't finished but they will be done and online soon, prob this week.
Take a look and let me know what you think, if your into poker you might like the site itself, I have a lot planned including freerolls (You can enter tournaments for free and win cash) and tournaments, so you wont regret it!

I am trying to come up with some concepts for more poker sites, I haven't got enough sites online and I need to get it sorted out soon!
I have one of my sponsors on DeuceAce renewing today, the sponsor is RakeNut.com, they are a great rakeback site and have been advertising with me for a while now.
They had a problem and couldn't pay their last bill because paypal isn't working for them, I have been in the same situation so I know what its like.
I kept their advertising on for the 3 weeks because I know they are good for the money.
Heard back and they are renewing for 3 weeks - Like I said I don't want to post any earnings on here but it wouldn't be hard to find out ;)
Many other blog owners here post their earnings?
I wont be doing it again because people were reading my blog and bumping up prices when I already knew their normal prices, I know a few other people said the same thing happened to them when they were posting earnings.
If you own a blog, you might want to think about that!
Something I have seen a lot of people doing is being very secret, not about projects before they are live, because I would do the same myself, but about the running of their sites.
I thought the blogs are about how they run their sites so other webmasters can learn from it?

Its not as bad as it sounds, there was a stand here already but I have a silver TV and the stand is wood, I just finished putting up the silver stand.
I said I was going to take photos when I moved in but I have been too busy, the place is a complete mess.
I need to get my girl to clean it up, she does it nearly every day but I seem to make it worse an hour later.
Damn freeview...I have freeview here and its crap.
I had Sky Digital in my old place but haven't had a chance to move it over.
Not sure if Freeview is everywhere but its digital TV without a contract.
Sky Digital is digital TV, with a contract. But it has a lot more channels.
Need to get digital organised because freeview keeps freezing, it has all the channels I need but no point if I can't watch them eh!
I have been using my laptop since I moved but I think I will get a desk setup.

DeuceAce v2 - 95% complete!
Hey all,
The design for DeuceAce is 95% complete now, I am still trying to get a way so I can give you a link to see the skin before its live, but I can't find a way vbulletin allows it, still trying :)
I am trying to hire a content writer that can do a lot of content on a regular basis for me, I think I have found a company but just want to work a few things out first.
I need to hire someone to write reviews for me, its not easy work and each review would take at least 2 days, more than 1 day using the poker room then writing the actual review.
I found someone that had good looking reviews and he just got them done, he wont tell me who wrote them though.
I hate when other webmasters hide things like that, its so stupid.
I think if webmasters work together we can do a lot better than trying to work on our own.
I bought a new design last night, its a vBulletin skin but I am going to use it on vBulletin and an Arcade site.
Just need to find a coder now :)
Don't want to spend too much on this one, I am doing it for a friend really, arcades aren't my type of thing since there's so much competition.
Ok, got a reply from vBulletin and they told me that I can't set it so one user can view the board.
I bought a new review and article system for DeuceAce
I am about 80% complete with the basic features on DeuceAce, I am trying to stick to vbulletin products as much as possible so it integrates well.
The money hasn't come through from escrow yet, hopefully it will come on Monday.
I am buying another poker site this weekend, it needs some work done to it but I think it looks very promising, I just need to get a PHP coder.
Seriously...I think I'm at a stage where I need a full time coder!
I'm constantly looking for someone to do coding work for me but still haven't found anyone good and reliable.
I'm looking for a coder to integrate designs to phplinkdirectory, vbulletin and gamescript right now as well, want to get those finished up soon.
Ok, I need help from anyone reading!
I want to setup the blog so it uses a domain name, but I have no idea how.
The only thing I use this for is writing and I had a quick look at the backend but it was asking for FTP info when I put in a domain...anyone know if theres a help file in blogger for setting it up with a domain?
Next....anyone have any suggestions for a domain?
I don't want to use the subdomain it has here now because I can't even spell it myself half the time ;)

Long time no update..things going slow

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I have been really busy but I'm not getting much work done.
I was in England for 6 days (i think) and I only got to check my emails every few days, so I didn't get any work done at all there.
I got back on Tuesday night and I have been catching up on things since then but haven't got any real work done yet.
The DeuceAce design is nearly finished now!
Sheldon has installed it on my server now and it should be finished tonight or tomorrow, it was going to be finished tonight because he only had to do the buttons and icons, but then I gave him more work and asked for a custom postbit :p
The postbit is the part around your post on the forum that has your post text, sig, avatar and all the buttons.
I think its looking really good.
I am trying to finish off the other things for DeuceAce now so it will be ready to go live within a few days, once Sheldon is done I will setup a test account and let blog readers see the working skin before anyone else ;)
The AllDotNet site was taken off the market for a bit but it is now being sold again, the money is actually being sent to escrow today.
I don't want to say how much it went for, but it was xx,xxx :)
More than I thought it would but its a great site that takes very little work, I honestly think the revenue could be a lot more as well.
Once DeuceAce is finished up I am going on the hunt for advertisers again, I think a few more advertisers will cover all the costs I have had.
DeuceAce is looking like it will be a great site, but it still doesn't have that x-factor.
I am looking for some ideas on how to make it totally unique, if anyone has any suggestions please email me at john [at] deuceace . com
Has anyone used print material for advertising?
I am thinking of getting T-Shirts, mousepads and a few other things for DeuceAce.
But would anyone really use them. I know I would use the mousepads anyway, but I don't know if I would even wear T-Shirts with the name of a site on them, just seems too geeky to me, but the logo is amazing looking and I think it would look good.
Ok just spent 20 mins trying it out, the mugs look crap and I couldn't find a mousepad, that's the main one I want to get.

I done it with cafepress, going to try it out somewhere else when I have more time and when I'm going to buy them.

Proper update!
Hey,
At last I have some free time, first time since I moved out!
My new apartment is still a bit of a mess but I will get some pics as soon as I can, I keep forgetting to take some.
First off, last week I got some very bad news.
The bar I go to every week is closed because the owner got into debt, I'm going to be lost every weekend without it.
Hopefully someone will take it over and open it up again soon, I have nowhere to sit and watch and watch myself losing money on football and racing now.
Lets all pray that Jackie Mullans will be open soon ;)

The site is amazing and its easy money, its making $600+ every month now but I want to move into poker more and the money from this will be going into some poker sites.

I have been slacking on the work of DeuceAce lately, I have just been too busy with things offline.

I have to say, I love it :)
I need to get into action and start working on the site itself a lot more now, I'm really falling back on my plans but I can't help it after moving.
AllDotNet is my only big non-poker site now but it never really took much of my time anyway, but its still some more time to put into the poker sites.
I posted the previews of two designs for two new poker sites in my last update but I'm STILL waiting to get the last preview of a design from one of my designers, I don't think I will be using him again unless he gets back to me today, its been 16 days now since I sent the brief and I told him the design was urgent.
I need to get content writers and PHP coders to start working on my other poker sites, I just need to make sure I get a good writers that knows about poker so they don't make mistakes.
I have always hated trying to find a PHP coder, they either cost far too much or don't finish off jobs.
I think I will just have to fork out the money though to get a good coder that can do all the work for me.
I have also been looking for a good designer that I will be giving steady work to, I have used a lot of designers in the past.
Some are great but they normally start falling behind or the designs just all look the same.
I have been trying out a few different designers for a while now and there are some good, but none great.
If anyone is a designer make sure you check out this thread.

I haven't bought it because I think its far too expensive for what it does.
I have seen a good free alternative but I haven't tried that yet.

Very quick update!
Hey all
Just a very quick update, still haven't got the internet sorted in my new place yet but hopefully it will be soon.
That just reminds me..Im going to take my old laptop down there today and see if there's a wireless connection I can get on, for some reason my new laptop can't even use a wireless network...

Just a very quick update, still haven't got the internet sorted in my new place yet but hopefully it will be soon.
That just reminds me..Im going to take my old laptop down there today and see if there's a wireless connection I can get on, for some reason my new laptop can't even use a wireless network...

Its basically for web developers and entrepreneur (I still have to use a spell checker to spell that, its a real pain trying to remember how to spell the subdomain for this blog ;))
Talking about that...anyone know the easiest way I can forward a domain to here?
It would save a lot of hassle of using a spell checker everytime I want to find the site ;)

New apartment and poker updates
Hey
Just got the word back today that I got an apartment I was looking for right in the city centre here.
I'm going to sign the contracts and deal with all the legal things tomorrow, then I am getting the keys on Saturday.
Once I get in I will post up pics :)
I got a new surround sound home cinema system yesterday but I am going to put it up in the new apartment instead.
I ordered a new TV as well and it was meant to come today, didn't have it by 6pm so phoned up and I was told they would call back on Tuesday..so no idea when it will even arrive.
I'm going to take one of the TVs from the place I'm in now anyway, I will still be using both but I think I will just be staying in the apartment once I get everything sorted, I spend most of my time right in the centre and if I have everything I need, it will save a lot of time :)

Grrr too much happening!
Hey,
I was expecting to update sooner but I have had a lot to do.
I am getting the house I'm in now repainted everywhere and changing around the bedrooms a lot so its been mad for a while.
I am going to rent out an apartment right in the city centre, been looking at a few, the best one was yesterday and I think I will go for that, still have to see another 2 and one of those is in the same area as the one I like.
It is just as bad online, I am still waiting to hear back from Malbar, the logo was meant to be finished yesterday but I didn't like the concepts really and the final design of the concept I decided to go with just didn't look like his normal quality, which is the best I have seen anywhere.
I want this logo to be really good since its for DeuceAce and the new design for the whole site will be based around it, plus DeuceAce is going to be the "hub" of my poker network.
Sheldon still cant get started on the new design for DeuceAce until Malbar gets back to me, last time I heard from him was 1pm yesterday, its going on to 4pm now and I don't even see him online, really hope its finished today because this must be messing up Sheldons schedule.
Anyway...quit the moaning ;)
The two designs are complete for two new poker sites, they aren't anything amazing but I don't need anything amazing because they are being used for sites I want to setup and leave to run without doing work, but they still look good.
I am looking for someone to code them for me now, I know I said I would post a screenshot but it shouldn't take too long to get them coded.
I got the payment for an advertiser that is taking on a 12 month spot on DeuceAce today, have to get that setup soon.
I have been buying some poker domains and domains making revenue, nothing major, just ones around $2.5-$4/day - Each costs around $1800-$5000 - I think domains are a good investment so starting to get a few that I can just leave to go in the background.
I got OnlineTourneys.com for a great bargain - Its a great poker domain that I will be setting up as another static site, thinking of making it display different types of tournaments running and about to start on various poker rooms - I know I will easily make the money back anyway :)

Update on new sites
I have been working on a lot of new sites for the last few weeks now.
All are poker sites.
I have someone else managing the development of the sites so I can work on a few other things.
I have got some of the designs back, one is complete and the other should be complete tonight or tomorrow.
I will put up a preview of both designs tomorrow.
I couldn't find a way to send the payment for the new DeuceAce logo so I had to get a good friend I know online, Paul, to send it for me through moneybookers.
Hes a life saver because Sheldon is meant to start on my design today but I had to get the logo first.
I haven't seen the logo designer online all day so hopefully he will be on soon, fingers crossed anyway because I need it very soon so the design can be started for DeuceAce.
REALLY looking forward to getting the new DA logo now because I have so many plans that I have to hold back until I have the new design.
As soon as I get it I will be setting up a test board and installing a few things and working on things I have been planning for a while before putting it live.
I will give blog readers a preview before anyone else sees it while its in development ;-)
I have decided not to post my earnings anymore, there's a few reasons for this and I think anyone that posts their earnings will understand why.
I can say that my earnings have gone up a very nice amount and I have nearly made more this month already than I have the last two, if you saw my earnings last month you will know this is a big increase :)

Back in action!
Ok, time to start working properly again this week.
I will be posting my revenue from last month soon, it is on my other computer and I'm using my new laptop!
Ordered a laptop at the end of last week and it came on Saturday!
My other laptop is really small, I got it because I wanted something really light because I was traveling over 3 hours everyday last year, now I don't have to I want something bigger and more powerful.
It isn't too heavy, I can still take it about with me and I still go away at least twice a month now, so I will be taking it with me.
I have to get a wireless internet connection now for my broadband, I have to take a lead everywhere with me.
Ok on to work....
AllDotNet
I have decided to start working on AllDotNet and improving it again, it is bringing in easy money without any marketing, if I improve the script a bit more and market I think it could bring in a lot more.
It has just under 10,000 pages index in google now, I am paying a coder to make even more pages static instead of dynamic (Google indexes static, .html, pages more than pages with =?p2 for example) to get more listed.
I also want to add a lot more unique features to set it apart from other phplinkdirectory sites.
I am thinking of adding a referral system so people earn money if they refer people that list their sites at AllDotNet, but I will have to pay for a custom system for this.
I will also have to raise the prices to cover the costs, right now it is only $4.95 which is VERY low for a directory with as good a reputation and history as AllDotNet - Most other sites are charging $19.95+ and some are recurring yearly payments, unlike AllDotNet which is a one off fee!
I have always planned on raising prices, but I want to offer more to people to justify the prices first, although I think everyone else would agree the quality of the directory alone would more than justify a raise already.

I am sending the design brief to the designer today, he told me he will be starting on the 8th this month, can't wait to see it because I think it will really change DeuceAce.
I am looking for a number of things I can add to DeuceAce to make it unique than other poker forums and also improve what is already there.
I am getting a lot of new vBulletin modules, the first and main will be a review system for reviewing online rooms, books, DVDs etc.
To improve revenue I will be improving what is available to members that upgrade their accounts and making it very visible to see members that are upgraded, I think some people would be interested.
Once a few have it hopefully others will see their upgraded badge and signup.
I really want to get a competition lined up for DeuceAce, that is one of the first things I want to do once the site is updated.
A LOT of people are asking me to partner with them for DeuceAce, I have never really liked partnerships but I am open to suggestions and have one here I have to read over today.
I am going to raise the price for advertising on DeuceAce very soon, I hardly ever have space available yet, may as well increase it to go with the demand :)

I need to start working!
I haven't been doing much work lately since I sold WMF, I think everyone is the same, when you know you have money available you don't work as hard.
The first payment of WMF came through from escrow and the second has just been sent by escrow again, for some reason the buyer's bank couldn't send the money.
Just sending the payment now for the new DeuceAce forum design ($800).
It is def going to be done in the first week of April, really looking forward to getting it online, I think it will really help the forum with a nice design.
Once the design is up its time to get serious with DeuceAce!
I have been selling off my sites but haven't been getting anything to replace them, I will be putting a lot into DeuceAce now anyway.
I finally got the $600 from a new advertiser on DeuceAce, IslandPoker.com

My poker experiment is going well, I am just about to change to the next level, I have $9.91 right now and I move up a limit when I get to $10, I will be glad of it because I have been playing a lot and it took over a week to get up $5!

Netrepreneur - The Life of a Netrepreneur

The webmasterforums sale is almost complete now, escrow has released the funds ($2000) but they take up to 5 days to go into my account.
Tim also sent $3000 today (Just sent him a message to see if he got it sent off) and then I am sending him the files/content, once he has that the other $3000 is being sent.
I don’t know how long it will take for the money from Tim to come through, got a lot of money from the states but sometimes it comes the same day (Quicker than UK-UK bank transfer!) and other times it can take up to a week.
I don’t have any real rush for this anyway, don’t have anything I need to spent money on and I have everything covered that I do.
Talked to Malbar today, he’s the logo designer.
He wanted me to pay by Western Union but the fees were ~$50 and that was only payment one out of two, so that would be around $100 in fees!
No chance am I paying that much in fees. Offered to split the fees but he didn’t want to.
I have to setup an account with moneybookers now, waiting for them to verify my card.
I have to use them to buy a poker domain anyway so it doesn’t matter.
Got a chance to talk to Sheldon at last about doing the design for DeuceAce, its going to be started in the first week of April.
The cost is going to be ~$850 for a base rate, any extra graphics etc. will be extra, its well worth it though.
I wasn’t impressed with the design from WebRhino for roughly the same price, I think it would be been a LOT better to go with Sheldon for WebmasterForums too.
For anyone into poker, I decided to try out a small experiment to see how high I could get starting with just $5, you can find more information on it here.
Getting your money up on the first level is really hard, I’m thinking of skipping up to the next stages because I have been doing it for two days and I’m up about $2….
Also on poker, I played a tournament on Monday night with other poker affiliates, I think some are good players and play a lot, I don’t get a chance to play as much as I would like.
I ended up 4/27 – Not too bad and I also put out the organiser and got a $25 prize plus ~$7 I think for coming 4th hehe.
